We believe that the sooner a student gets to
see a college or trade school campus, the better.
College tours take some of the mystery out of post-secondary
education. On our ETS tours, students interact with
college advisors, learn about the majors and programs
available to them, and get the chance to become more
comfortable with campus life in general. We hope that
this experience will help students to see that college/trade
school is a viable option for them, and that seeing the
campuses will help them to choose the path that is right for
them.
Junior Tour (Feb '06)
Ninety Washington
County juniors boarded busses for a 36-hour whirlwind tour
of the University of Utah, Weber State University, Utah
Valley State College, and Brigham Young University. In
addition to the educational aspect of the tour, students
were also treated to free time at the Gateway Mall and an
IMAX movie.
Sophomore Tour (April '06)
The Community
College of Southern Nevada hosted our students this year.
On this one-day tour, students saw state-of -the-art labs
for the nursing and biology programs, and were taken through
the dental hygiene and broadcasting buildings. They
were also treated to lunch and unlimited access to
activities at the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix.
Freshman Tour (April '06)
This day tour
brought our 9th graders to Southern Utah University to
experience college life in Cedar City. After attending
a presentation by the college advisors, the students toured
the campus and were later "wowed" by the college's show
choir, Acclamation.
