GETTING STARTED AT DIXIE STATE COLLEGE (DSC):
THE QUICK LIST

ADMISSIONS

  • Submit an admissions application to the Admissions Office

  • Have official high school and college or university transcripts sent to Admissions

  • Send ACT or SAT test scores, if they are not on high school transcript or take the CPT at Dixie's Testing Center, if you have no test scores or they are old.

  • Pay $35 admission fee to the Cashier

REGISTRATION (Signing up for classes)
  • Obtain a College catalog and a class schedule from the bookstore

  • Determine placement scores for English, Math and Reading from ACT, SAT or CPT scores.

  • Find the associates degree requirements in the catalog or schedule book.

  • Attend an appointment with an advisor. You can register at this time. (new freshman must attend O&R.)

  • Sign up for classes in person, on-line or by phone, 15 or 16 credits, about five classes, is a typical full-time class load.

PAYMENT AND FINANCIAL AID
  • Pay your tuition and fees at the Cashiers in person, by phone, mail or on-line

  • If you need financial aid, complete a Free Application for Financial Assistance (FASFA) and contact the Financial Aid Office for priority deadlines

  • Apply for scholarships by the March 1st prior to attending

HOUSING AND MEALS
  • Arrange housing early. Contact the Housing Office for information about on and off-campus housing

  • Pay the housing deposit

  • On-campus meal tickets are required for on-campus housing students.

  • Off-campus students can also obtain meal tickets.
